There was a tech working on the electrical when it happened the hood was up and the F-150 was running. I’m not 100% sure what the cause was.

The tech working on it was inside but the service writers 3 walls away felt and heard it to the point that the got down thinking somebody was plowing a vehicle through the wall.

It’s the battery cable to the starter touching the tube.

called the customer and asked them to remove their firearms before we service their vehicle!

Lol she said she hit a wooden block. The wheel tore into the strut and the tie rod.

Its not even supposed to have a distributor...

...someone went all out here it is infact a d17a1 auto

It has a p75 [ECU] in it and still reads codes on the stock one

Apparently hes using bolth old and new harness but didnt have the right pigtails so its just wire pushed in wire and some connectors

2015 Camaro

I was able to pull the dash pad with the windshield on. But once I realized that I couldn’t get away without seeking the firewall bolts for the support bar under the dash pad, I had to call the glass guy to pull it off

Overheated, issue that Ford has made a recall for that hadn’t been done before it bit the big one.

...That camshaft runs a vacuum pump that seized due to the heat and snap the camshaft in place, blocking the oil passages to lubricate it. Then it tried to shut off on the customer while they where on the highway. If the motor was able to keep running it would have cooked that other cam as well.

It an annex building from the dealership. We were able to save most of the cars. These were dead and couldn’t be moved in time.

They somehow managed to cross thread zero on the opposite corner, though (last in a shop for inspection.)

Hyundai santa Fei. Can’t exactly say what may have caused the fire. But looks like someone may have left a battery charger on the vehicle.

Cut the bolt in half.

I did mess with it for a bit, but in the end it was quicker and cheaper than messing about for 15minutes for the sake of a <$1 bolt to just grab the sawsall.

Yeah a bunch of ants. The worst part is I leaned into the vehicle to change the cabin filter and didn’t realize until I got out and felt, what I thought was dirt, on my leg.

That is the steering knuckle of a Dodge Ram. That hole is where the ball joint goes and it is supposed to be round.

Removed both the axle nut and upper ball joint nut with my fingers.

He bought different Toyota wheels and the old sensors were from the steel wheels which won’t match the new alloy wheels and she refused to buy new sensors and pay to have them installed and programed so she did this

The tire pressure sensor thing is a pretty common trick for autocross/trackday cars that have a dedicated set of wheel and performance tires. Yes, you lose that ability to detect flat tires but most of the owners are the type who constantly check their tires before driving.

Was glad to see some intricate mechanical problems being diagnosed by customer and tech alike this week. I can about hear the “Hey, pull my dipstick” jokes after managing to fix that one.
